Teeth Cleanings

A healthy, pain-free smile is the result of regular teeth cleanings and exams. Scheduling check-ups every 6 to 8 months helps prevent gum disease and tooth decay, saving you from unexpected dental problems and costs.

The Importance of Early Intervention and Routine Care

You know that saying, “prevention is better than cure”? Well, we totally stand by that. We’re all about seeing you grin because your health means everything to us. When we suggest routine care and early intervention, it’s not just about checklists—it’s because we genuinely care about how you’re feeling. Taking care of your teeth, gums, jaw, and tongue now means less hassle later on. And let’s be real, nobody likes unexpected pain or expenses, right? Keeping you smiling is what drives us.

Keep Your Natural Teeth for Longer

Cavities are actually the main reason why young adults lose their teeth, while gum disease takes the spotlight for older folks. It’s all about keeping up with good oral hygiene at home to keep your mouth in top shape. And when you come in for your regular checkup, we’re like detectives—we can spot those early signs of gum disease and tooth decay before they become big issues. It’s all about staying ahead of the game!

Save Your Money

Regular teeth cleanings and exams are affordable and predictable expenses that can be easily budgeted. Addressing early signs of tooth decay with composite fillings is also cost-effective and a smart long-term investment. On the other hand, more extensive procedures to fix serious health issues often come with a higher cost.

Don’t Even Think About It

When your oral health is on point, you don’t even have to give it a second thought. No aches, no pains, just smooth sailing. You can chow down on all your favourite foods without a worry in the world and flash that confident smile whenever you want. Plus, well-kept teeth? They’re like nature’s own beauty accessory—naturally stunning, comfy, and totally dependable.

to schedule an initial consultation & exam.

Your consultation will include an examination of everything from your teeth, gums and soft tissues to the shape and condition of your bite. Generally, we want to see how your whole mouth looks and functions. Before we plan your treatment we want to know everything about the health and aesthetic of your smile, and most importantly, what you want to achieve so we can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

A routine dental check-up includes a teeth cleaning and an exam. During the cleaning, stuck-on plaque and tartar that accumulate despite regular brushing and flossing are removed. The exam allows the dental team to monitor your overall oral health, paying special attention to any problem areas. Regular check-ups help maintain a healthy mouth and catch issues early.

Cavities are caused by bacteria and dental plaque, worsened by sugary or acidic foods and drinks. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental visits can help prevent them.

Some people are genetically predisposed to have more cavities than others. Factors like susceptibility to cavity-causing bacteria or having overcrowded teeth that are hard to clean can contribute. The best approach is to focus on maintaining excellent oral hygiene and healthy eating habits at home to improve your chances of avoiding cavities.

Yes. Fillings prevent further tooth decay and future pain, making it in your best interest to get a filling while the problem is still small and manageable.

Tooth decay can be prevented and sometimes even reversed with regular cleanings. Early signs of decay can be treated with fluoride and composite fillings. Infected teeth can often be saved with a root canal. Severely decayed teeth can be capped with natural-looking dental crownsor resurfaced with veneers. If the decay is extensive, extraction may be necessary, and the function of your bite and smile can be restored with an implant or bridge. Various treatment options are available depending on your specific circumstances.

Yes, preventative teeth cleanings and routine exams are encouraged and completely safe during pregnancy. These visits help prevent oral infections and treat any dental symptoms that may arise. In the event of a dental emergency, such as an infection, more invasive procedures like a root canal may be necessary. However, elective procedures like teeth whitening should be postponed until after the baby is born.

I had my root canal and crown done at Wellington Dental, and I had a positive experience. Many dentists in London are great, but Dr. Nabhan really stood out to me. He was very confident in what he was doing, and his steady, confident hands throughout the procedure made me feel completely at ease. I don’t have dental insurance, so I paid out of pocket, and I must say the pricing was very reasonable. I’m grateful for the care I received and would definitely recommend them.
