Seamless Tooth Restoration

A dental crown, often referred to as a “cap,” is a meticulously crafted restoration that is placed over a tooth exhibiting various concerns such as breakage, root canal treatment, staining, decay, or misshapenness. These custom-fitted crowns seamlessly blend with the tone and contour of your natural teeth, offering both durability and aesthetic appeal, often lasting for over 15 years. Dental crowns serve a versatile role, not only restoring damaged teeth but also anchoring dental bridges, completing dental implants, and fulfilling specific cosmetic or aesthetic objectives with precision.

What To Expect ? Dental Crown

Getting a dental crown typically involves two office visits and is skillfully executed by a dentist. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the procedure:

Examining and Preparing the Tooth

Comprehensive Dental Examination: The journey begins with a thorough dental examination where the dentist assesses and cleans your teeth to prepare them for a seamless crown fit.

Addressing Damage: If the tooth is compromised, be it broken or significantly decayed, the damaged areas are meticulously removed to create a solid foundation for the dental crown. This initial step is vital in safeguarding the tooth against further decay.

Cleaning and Surface Preparation: Your dentist will meticulously clean and dry the targeted tooth before applying a mildly acidic gel. This gel creates a rough surface, facilitating the bonding process.

Crafting The Crown

Impression Taking: Using dental putty, we capture an impression of your teeth. This impression serves as the blueprint for crafting full porcelain crowns tailored to your unique dental structure.
Temporary Crown: While your permanent crown is in the manufacturing process, a temporary crown is carefully fitted onto your tooth. This temporary crown maintains the tooth’s integrity until your next appointment. If you’re considering replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant, we also take an impression of the implant and surrounding teeth, enabling our lab to create a custom crown that seamlessly blends with your smile.

Setting The Crown

Crown Installation: During your second appointment, the temporary crown is removed, making way for the permanent crown. The crown is securely affixed to the tooth using robust dental cement or a concealed screw, ensuring long-lasting stability.
Final Touches: To conclude the process, we meticulously polish the crown and make any necessary adjustments to guarantee your comfort and security.

London Dental Crown Pricing: Factors and Considerations

The cost of a dental crown can vary significantly depending on several factors, making it a personalized financial consideration. Here’s a breakdown of what influences the cost:

Type of Crown and Material: The choice of crown type and the material used play a substantial role in determining the cost. Different crown materials, such as porcelain, ceramic, or metal, have varying price ranges.

Location and Procedure Complexity: The geographical location of the dental practice and the complexity of the procedure influence costs. Dental services in London may have different price structures compared to other areas.

Number of Crowns: If multiple crowns are required, the cost will naturally increase. The extent of restoration needed affects the overall expense.

Combination with Other Appliances: In some cases, dental crowns are part of a larger treatment plan that includes other dental appliances like bridges. This integration can impact the final cost.

Supplies and Equipment: The specific supplies and equipment necessary for your unique treatment also contribute to the overall cost.

With that being said, you can expect to pay between $1,300 to $1,400. However, It’s essential to note that providing an accurate quote over the phone is challenging because each patient’s needs are as unique as their smile. To determine the precise cost and explore treatment options, scheduling an appointment with a dentist and undergoing an oral examination is crucial. For those with dental insurance, we are happy to assist in supplying you with a quote to submit to your insurer, enabling you to understand your out-of-pocket expenses before making any decisions. Your oral health and the restoration of your smile are valuable investments, and we are here to help you navigate the financial aspects of your dental care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dental crowns are recommended for various reasons, including repairing cracked or chipped teeth, treating severe decay, covering discolored teeth, or improving the appearance of misshapen teeth.

Dental crowns offer durability, enhanced aesthetics, and long-lasting tooth protection. They can restore both function and appearance to your smile.

Dental crowns can last 15 years or more with proper care and maintenance.

The process typically involves two visits: tooth preparation and crown placement. The tooth is prepared, an impression is taken, and a temporary crown is fitted. Then, a permanent crown is placed in the second appointment.

The dental crown procedure is generally painless. Local anesthesia is used to ensure your comfort during the treatment.

Alternatives include dental veneers, inlays, and onlays, depending on your specific dental needs and goals.

Maintain good oral hygiene, including regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups. Avoid chewing hard objects to prolong the life of your crown.

Dental crowns do not respond to teeth whitening treatments. If you want a whiter smile, discuss teeth whitening options before getting a crown.

Dental insurance may partially cover the cost of dental crowns, depending on your plan. Check with your insurance provider for details.

I recently brought my mother in for an emergency appointment, she was experiencing a lot of pain. Dr. Ahmed was able to help with a tooth extraction. He provided excellent service and was very gentle. I would highly recommend this clinic. Their business hours are very accommodating compared to other dentists.

I went in for an emergency appointment the same day I called with significant constant tooth pain. Turns out I had severely sensitive teeth that was causing me extreme pain from receding gums and exposed roots. I was given treatment today for it... 3 hours after treatment I tested it with a cold glass of water, no pain whatsoever (prior to treatment I would've had a throbbing ache in my teeth for nearly an hour). Tried it with two spoons of ice cream (which would've had me groaning in agony prior). No pain, mild sensation in my teeth but no pain otherwise. I could not be happier or more relieved, I was in misery for over a week hoping it would just go away on its own. The staff and dentist were patient listening to my probably overly long-winded explanation of my pain. I'm immensely grateful for the quick and effective treatment. I will definitely be coming here for future care and treatment. (They also probably have one of the best business hours of any dentist I can find in London.. They're open 7 days a week and much later than most dentists).

The best way to put this. This dentistry, the staff are so inviting. They made me and my children feel comfortable and safe during out visit which is hard to come by without the feeling of judgement. They are kind, caring and compassionate and should be reconginized for their values and their dedication to their patients. It's hard to write a good review that will make the reader feel the way you did during your visit. However if you come here for your next visit, you will feel like they are really here to help you and they really have your best intentions at heart
